I started my own art studio in 2023 in my garage and have been painting birds and colourful abstract art. I love watching the texture changes and the colours blend.
I have worked closely with inspirational young people who have experienced homelessness, mental health challenges and complex childhood trauma. My dream is to teach classes on Creativity unlocking young peoples unique voice through the arts.
My first oil painting of an Australian Blue- Wren. I have rescued and cared for many birds and have loved their beauty from a young age. This fairy blue wren is my absolute favourite, I loved making him larger than life so that everyone who sees him will marvel at the amazing colours of this bird.
So many bright colours, I loved painting this little fellow- I was really drawn to the rainbow like colours of this little bird. The eyes took quite some time to do as did the feathers and straight beak.
The size is 122cm X 91cm.
The process of painting my lilac breasted roller bird- guess where I was every Saturday morning in 2021 post lockdown?
Scotland is on my dream board to see these precious puffin birds! Their quirky little clown faces- this is my oil painting soon to be released in print for sale!
Starting with pencil sketching, graphing of the photo then painting from the photo on my eye pad to view.

I have found that my acrylic abstract paintings have been great backgrounds for my cockatoo art.
This female cockatoo is such a gentle soul, her eyes always look at me when I call her by name. Her feathers near her beak fluff up when I talk to her. The background is an acrylic mix of deep greens, yellow, white and a touch of blue.
Here is one of my You Tube Shorts showing my art process as I painted my cockatoo characters in their natural habitat in Lilydale.
Three doors have been converted into art showing off the cheekiness of the white sulphur crested cockatoo and the endangered black cockatoo’s.
You guessed it! more comical cockatoo’s.
A sneak preview of my first cheeky character- in acrylic paint- I will be exploring their quirky, loving and slightly off the wall personalities.
From a sketch in pencil to a painting in a coat of many colours with acrylic paints.
For over 25 years I have worked with many inspiring and talented young people who have experienced learning difficulties, complex trauma, mental health challenges and homelessness. I am passionate about running creative arts workshops with community services that support young people.
A collection of twelve colourful acrylic cockatoo’s coming soon!
Take 5 minutes to love yourself, that’s right it’s important to know that you can start right here in this simple yet powerful activity on self-love. You deserve it!

‘Rainbow Tears’
I was on a journey with this painting exploring colours, textures and the patterns that emerged from the experience reminded me of rainbow tears- after the rain there is always a rainbow.
My Art studio time over the past 3 months has been spent exploring acrylic abstract painting, the title of this series is transition.
We all go through seasons of change, transitions and times when you move from one season of your life to another.
This abstract painting was created with a couple of hand gliding painting movement tools. I love seeing the colours blend and the mustard replaced with green and blue white tones.
This abstract painting was created with almost every bright colour I could find. As I moved with the flow of my plastic spatula I was able to create a line of red that stood out from the other colours to become the brightest.
As I create my abstract paintings I listen to music and start adding colours in layers starting at the top of the painting I move the paint around with my window washer creating lovely colourful patterns.
